Hi Andy. To my regret, I have carelessly committed myself to being at a sailing meeting tomorrow.. . . and just as the weather was turning better. Still, I shall take the direct route to Portsmouth by bike and via the Hayling Ferry.

Good decision with the forecast as it is. I also have a slight bias – I was going to have a fairly tight deadline at the end of the ride. Let’s hope for decent weather in a week’s time.
Would that be meeting up to get the 1030 ferry . . . . or do we intend to wait a little longer and cycle over on the ice. Derek
Gil’s new partner sounds like an escapee from Star Trek.
Unless the conditions are bad, I shall wallow up the mudpath known as the Billy Line – If anyone else is going that way, I’ll meet up at the station at 1000hrs. If no one else, then I’ll just go past the station without stopping.
I would be happy with either alternative. Thanks to Mike for offering to lead the ride on the 5th.

I was just about to email with my intention to go on the ride. Then I had the offer of a cancellation date for my cataract operation. The op is at 1.30 pm, so I could just do both . . . . . but it might not be a good idea. Hope you have a good ride and see you in November. Derek Russell

I hope the ride went well, and sorry that I didn’t reply to your message before the ride. I have a hospital appointment early this afternoon, and I think it would be the ultimate in brinkmanship to try the ride as well.

This time, I’ll take a view in the morning. Catching Friday night ferry with a boat load of gear and in London on Thursday. However a ride in this company would be good. Don’t wait if I am not at HIADS at 1000. Derek
It looks like a good idea. I’ll aim to join you for both directions, which gives me a “get out” of returning by rail from Petersfield to Havant if either my stamina or the bike’s battery fade. I assume that you are starting from HIADS at 1000. Since I live in St Thomas Ave, I will meet you at HIADS.
