KeymasterI’m afraid the weather looks like letting us down again. Tomorrow’s forecast is for a high probability of rain combined with strong winds.
If people want to go out tomorrow that’s fine, let me know. Otherwise I have to suggest another postponement (shame we aren’t going out today!)
I’m afraid I can’t do next week (we’ve got daughter and granddaughter visiting). The forecast for Friday 16th looks reasonable. Any takers?

KeymasterThe weather forecast is the same so I suggest we postpone to the 13th.

KeymasterThanks for the offer, Mike.
My suggestion to the group would be to go on Tuesday if the weather is reasonable.

KeymasterLooking dry for tomorrow so I’ll be at HIADS at 10am and the Spring Centre a little after 10.30.

KeymasterWeather looks a little better than it has been, but still likely to be wet, so let’s try again on the 14th.

KeymasterWe will get to the Spring shortly after 10.30.
Yes, it’s the arts centre. You can see its location here.

KeymasterThat’s about right, but only 18.5 miles if you join us at the Spring centre ( about 2 hours on the bike).
We’re certainly not fast – about 10 mph.

KeymasterWe could do, but that means a fairly steep hill – and they’re usually busy.

KeymasterIs there a particular problem? I took the Cathedral Challenge riders there a month ago. Good cakeage, pleasant seating out doors (no traffic), cheerful service.

KeymasterUnfortunately, I contracted the lurgy yesterday and still feeling fragile today.
I don’t think I’ll be able to lead tomorrow. Shame as the weather’s looking good. If anyone else wants to lead, I can provide some suggested routes.

KeymasterHigh winds and lots of wetness in the forecast, so I’ve decided to postpone today’s ride to next Tuesday, 13th June.

KeymasterThe forecast is – literally – changing by the hour.
I checked about 30 minutes ago and both BBC and Met Office forecasts were for fair weather except for a risk of a shower around midday and mid-afternoon. Just checked again and the Met Office forecast hasn’t changed but the BBC is showing gusting winds and risk of showers all day.
If the forecasts settle down to show bad weather, I’ll postpone. Please keep an eye on your email.

KeymasterIt looks like I have several takers for the two-way trip (albeit with Derek’sĀ option of training back from Petersfield).
I’ll be at HIADS at 9.am to take the two-way riders. We’ll meet with Martine and Steve (and anyone else that fancies starting from Havant) at the Spring Centre. We’ll then decide which route to take.
I’ve not had anyone say they are taking the one-way trip starting at HIADS. If that’s what you plan to do, I suggest turning up at 10am to see if there’s anyone there. If not, make your way to Havant station and thence to Petersfield where you should meet some others.
If you don’t have my mobile phone number click here to look up my details on the web site.

KeymasterI’ve been keeping an eye on the weather forecast but it keeps changing. Currently looks like a cold start with a possibility of some rain (and sun) around lunchtime.
I suggest a short trip out to Portsmouth and back, taking the 10:30 ferry out. Ferries back are on the hour so we’ll need to be aware of the time to avoid a long wait.

KeymasterMost of those on the ride want to take the train to Petersfield and cycle back from there. We’ll meet at HIADS at 10am as usual and take a leisurely ride to Havant station. We’ll catch the 11.04 from Havant arriving in Petersfield at 11.17 (we tried to catch the 10.40 before – and failed).
Note that groups of three or more can save one third the ticket price by travelling on a Group Saver ticket.
I plan to cycle – rather than train – to Petersfield with Malcolm and Debbie and anyone else that would like to join us (let me know if that’s you).
The two groups will meet at the Cloisters cafe in the South East corner of the square in Petersfeld.
