That was a popular suggestion!
Getting a booking for that many people could be a challenge – I’m on it!
Keep an eye on your email for an update.
Andy HendersonKeymasterThe weather forecast for tomorrow is the best we’re going to get, so I’ll see you if you can make it tomorrow (Friday), 10 at HIADS.
Andy HendersonKeymasterThat’s the plan, weather allowing!
Andy HendersonKeymasterWe are fated! Given the forecast, another postponement is inevitable. We could try another Tuesday, but it might be better to look for a day when the weather is more favourable. Would there be any takers for Friday this week (the 18th).
Andy HendersonKeymasterThe weather’s looking relatively dry tomorrow but the Met Office and BBC are forecasting strong winds again.
I’m therefore proposing a second week’s postponement to 15th November.
Andy HendersonKeymasterThe BBC forecast for tomorrow is for heavy rain and high winds. The Met Office is also showing high winds and a good chance of heavy rain. I therefore propose a postponement to next Tuesday, 8th November, but I’ll need to be back by 2pm.
Andy HendersonKeymasterBecause of the adverse weather forecast and the very heavy showers we’ve had recently, Peter and I have decided to postpone the ride for a week to Tuesday 13th September.
We’ll go to Compton.
Hopefully, we’ll have better luck.
Andy HendersonKeymasterI’m pleased to say Margaret’s a lot better this afternoon.
Andy HendersonKeymasterYes. 10 @ HIADS,
Andy
Andy HendersonKeymasterMaggi has just pointed out that, according to its Facebook page, the Bayside Cabin in Stokes Bay is closed for staff training tomorrow.
As it happens it would suit me to do something different as I have a dentist appointment at 2:40 which I didn’t take into account when I suggested Stokes Bay.
As an alternative, I suggest a round-Portsea route starting at the Ferry for the 10.35 sailing (in case someone doesn’t get the email for this post) but heading across to the Hard then up the west side of Portsea and back across the top.
We can decide where to stop for elevenses on the ride. I’d like to try the Hilsea Lines CafĂ© – but I’ve not been there before so open to suggestions.
Sorry about the hassle – and thanks to Maggi.
Don’t worry about updating any previous response. We’ll go with anyone that turns up for the 10.35 sailing (on either side).

Andy HendersonKeymasterI wasn’t planning to go via the Spring. Can we meet you in LTP car park or at the top of Eastern Road?
Andy HendersonKeymasterMet office forecast is for 50% chance of light rain through the morning. BBC is giving a lower chance at the outset with a higher chance later in the morning. BBC TV forecast talks of ‘drizzle in the air’.
I’m inclined to go unless everyone votes with their feet. We have the option of going directly there or, if we get caught out, stopping somewhere on the way.
Andy HendersonKeymasterThe weather is looking dodgy for Tuesday and I’m giving blood on Monday afternoon, so I propose a short ride to Woodmancote.
There are plenty of opportunities to extend the ride if some want to do that.
Andy HendersonKeymasterSince the weather forecast for next Tuesday is looking reasonable, I think we should go for it. With the current mild and wet weather we might not get a better opportunity.
Peter has offered to lead the ride to Stansted.
Meet at HIADS at 10 as usual.
Andy
Andy HendersonKeymasterThe weather forecast for Tuesday is looking reasonable. Meet at the 10.35 sailing of the Hayling ferry for a short trip around Langstone harbour.
Please let me know if you’re coming so I can book with Northney Farm.
Thanks,
Andy
