The Regency Tea rooms in Staunton Country Park would be a good alternative. I was going to get to Rowlands via Woodberry Lane. If the Bumblebee is shut we can continue towards Havant and use the Regency.

    Thanks for the heads up.

The web site is self-contradictory. This page says “Open six days a week” at the top, then “five days a week” further down. Its Facebook page says Wednesday to Sunday as does Google. Bing says Tuesday to Sunday.

All say it’s closed today so I can’t check with the cafe direct.

I’ll try Ian Hewitt. He should know. In the meantime, I’ll create a backup plan.

    A tale of woe.

Having fixed the puncture, I got as far as the Billy trail, having put on some speed to try to catch up. I then punctured again – back wheel again. Another flint but high up on the sidewall which is unusual. I think I must have picked it up while the tyre was deflating the first time.

Anyhow, I had no spare tubes left and figured nature was telling me something, so I abandoned.

I left a message on Mike’s phone which I hope you got so you weren’t waiting for me at the garden centre.

Forecast has improved (slightly). All the sites I monitor say the temperature will stay above freezing overnight, so I think we’re on for tomorrow.

I haven’t sent one yet. I’m concerned about ice. Metcheck is showing temperatures getting close to 0°C. Still watching the forecast.

Keeping my eye on the weather. Looking dry but cold at the moment, so probably a shorter ride to, say, Stansted Garden Centre.

The ferry has just posted a new timetable. The 10.35 ferry has moved to 10.20!

Given we’re all cycling to Chichester and the weather is potentially giving us a wet start I’m delaying the start at HIADS to 10am arriving at the Spring around 10.30. We’ll not have to cycle all the way in to Chichester so we’ll be back on schedule for the rest of the ride.

Weather could still be an issue, I’m keeping an eye on it.

Sorry. I can’t make it tomorrow. If anyone wants to lead the ride to Bosham, I can supply a route if needed.

Good to know you enjoyed it. I’ll try to arrange a more rural ride next time.

Once again the weather for tomorrow (Tuesday) is not looking good. I propose a second postponement to Wednesday which is looking overcast but mostly dry. Sorry if you can’t make it, but weather seems to be in the driving seat this month.

Thursday is looking even better but Peter and I need to be at the Community centre in plenty of time for the u3a meeting (it’s membership renewal time).
