We are seeking help.
Hayling Island U3A is undertaking research into the Social History of the Island from 1919 - 1946. To date we have discovered fifteen Service men who lost their lives during WW2 who are not commemorated on the memorial plaques in St. Mary’s Church, and it is hoped that in 2019 an additional plaque will be placed alongside the existing plaques. We are asking any relatives of men or women who lost their lives to make contact with us so that, not only can they be remembered in St. Mary’s Church, but also in the book we plan to publish in 2019.

Hayling Island Life and Times 1919-1946
I am pleased to inform all members that we have been awarded a National Heritage Lottery Fund grant to undertake this project which will research the many aspects of life on Hayling Island during the years 1919-1946.
