Reading B has started meeting and, following discussion, has decided to switch from the fourth Thursday to the fourth Tuesday of each month. The first meeting on the new day will be Tuesday 22nd March.

The Third Age Trust has organised a concert by the Brandenburg Singers and organ, conducted by Robert Porter on Wednesday 27th April 2016 between 2pm and 4pm at St Clement Danes, Strand, WC2. Tickets are £18 per person.
The committee wants to encourage groups to submit regular articles to the HI U3A newsletter. It is therefore asking each group to submit at least one article a year according to the following schedule:

... the new science of astrobiology
Birkbeck's School of Science invites U3A to a special talk by Ian Crawford - Professor of Planetary Science and Astrobiology - during Science Week.
The talk takes place at 2.30–4pm on Monday, 11th April 2016 at University Square Stratford, Salway Place, London E15.
The U3A Trust is hosting a programme of science presentations on Thursday, 17th March at the Royal Insitution, 21 Albermarle Street, London W15 4BS starting at 1.45pm.
Cost is £20 per person including refreshments.
Group leaders can now copy a list of a group's members and their emergency contacts down to a mobile phone or tablet (in fact, any portable device that has a web browser). The list also includes contact information for members that have allowed it to appear.
As long as there have been vaccines, there have been concerns about their safety and efficacy. In this exclusive one-day event, U3A members are invited to join medical specialists to explore the arguments for and against vaccination.
The event takes place on Wednesday 9th March 2016 at Dr Jenner's House, Church Lane, Berkley, Gloucestershire, GL13 9BN between 11am and 3:45pm and costs £20 per person (does not include travel or accommodation).

The Ambassador Theatre Group's West End Creative Learning team have created this one day bespoke event on Thursday 3rd March 2016 to bring together up to 150 U3A members from across the UK to enjoy the experience of working together with a professional West End Musical Director, learn a series of songs from various West End Musicals and perform the songs for a recording, a free CD of which will be mailed to you shortly after the event.
The U3A Trust has arranged for an exclusive screening of the stage production featuring David Suchet as Lady Bracknell.
The summer school runs from Monday 27th June to Thursday 30th June 2016 at the University of Chichester.
