Next Thursday's monthly meeting

The glory of Venice - triumph and tragedy.

Duncan Philips will explore how and why Venice was built and where the materials came from and how those decisions are now impacting on the conservation of the city. Click here to find out more.

The next Science and Technology meeting

The meeting takes place on Wednesday 28th March and our presentation is titled "Gunpowder engines, fact or fiction?" A gunpowder engine is defined by Wikipedia as "a type of internal combustion engine using gunpowder as its fuel".

The presentation is from Geoffrey Smith of Horndean U3A.

Are you interested in longer walks?

We are exploring the possibility of some walks that are longer than the 4-5 mile ones typically organised by the Walking Group. You can read about the proposal and the suggested first walk here. There's a good chance that we'll change the suggested date so don't let it put you off. Please let me know if you are interested (unless you've already got back to me).

U3A Trust events

I've published details of several forthcoming U3A Trust events on the web site. Click any item to find out more:

We send this email on the week-end before each monthly meeting. If you have something you'd like to include please let me know.
