KeymasterSure. See you there,

KeymasterNo problem. See you at the Spring on Wednesday,
Andy

KeymasterAs things stand, we’ll be 6 on Tuesday:
- Me
- Peter H
- Peter W
- Mike and Maggi
- Bob
And 3 on Wednesday:
- Me
- Ann
- David
Carol and Gil won’t be riding this time.

KeymasterThe lockdown announcement means we’ll be unable to run a second ride next week.
We have eight potential riders plus one new U3A member who is interested.
The weather forecast for Tuesday and Wednesday is looking OK. Can everyone please let me know their availability each day and I’ll do my best to accommodate everyone.
Thanks,
Andy

KeymasterGood to hear from you Tony.
All the best. Let me know if you’d like to do some short rides with someone,
Andy

KeymasterThat’s nicely split:
For tomorrow (6th):
- Me
- Ann
- Carol
- David
- Martine
- Peter (I assume you’d prefer to ride with a good weather forecast rather than take pot luck next week)
For next week (13th):
- Me
- Bob
- Maggi
- Mike
See you then,
Andy

KeymasterI’ve arranged for the second run to be on Monday 14th September. So far we’ll be: Me, Bob and Chris.
Tomorrow’s ride will be: Peter, Carol, Gil, David, Martine – and me.

KeymasterI have raised questions with Cycling UK (which raised its limit on ride size to 15 last week) because:
- I can’t find anything in the Government advice and guidance that allows > 6
- It says nothing about using cafés and other outlets
Also, I wouldn’t want to break the six-person limit without consulting the U3A committee and (any) U3A Trust advice/guidance.

KeymasterOK, let’s go to Stokes Bay. It’s likely we can get takeaway from the Bayside Cabin, but I’m going to take my own coffee and cake to eat on the seafront.
We’ll meet to catch the 10.30 ferry but we can be a maximum of 6 riders. If you’d like to come, please let me know ASAP. If the ride is over-subscribed, I’ll consider options. Please don’t turn up for the ride unannounced. I will abandon the ride rather than continue illegally.
Note that face coverings are required on the Hayling and Gosport ferries. I understand that pretty much anything goes as long as it covers your mouth and nose. The Hayling Ferry asks that you pay with contactless; price is £2.75 per crossing.

KeymasterAccording to its Facebook page, the Hayling Ferry is returning on Saturday. Passengers will have to observe some restrictions, of course. Face masks are required and cardless payments preferred. That gives us some more options for the July ride. Maybe a trip to Stokes Bay?

KeymasterThanks for getting back. I’ve been given the go-ahead by Anne and Julie given the next committee meeting will be towards the end of July. Would do no harm to get that confirmation minuted for both Cycling and Longer Walk groups.

KeymasterI’m sticking with the official gov.uk web site and – in particular – Public Health England, an organisation I know something about. There’s a lot of disinformation around. For the time being there’s no specific time limit. Unhelpful, but that’s how it is.

KeymasterWeather forecast has been changing a lot, but it seems to have settled down and we should be dry tomorrow, so the ride is on. Please check back here tomorrow before joining the ride but if you don’t see anything to the contrary, see you tomorrow.

KeymasterWeather forecast for tomorrow is dry, but not warm.
I’m inclined to go ahead.
If you can make it, see you then,
Andy
