Visit booking

We organise several visits each year. All Hayling Island U3A members can go on the visits (subject to places being available), you don't have to join the Visits group. You can find out about our visit programme by clicking 'Events' then 'Visits' in the menu bar of any of our pages:

Visits menu option

The page lists all current visits under 'Forthcoming events'. Click the title of any visit to see more information.

As soon as bookings are open for the visit, you will see a section at the bottom of the page headed 'Your bookings'. If you are not logged in to the members' area you will see a link that will log you in and return you to the visit page.

If you are booked on the event, you will see something like this:

Booked

This information appears regardless of how you made your booking. If you made your booking at a monthly meeting, by email or post, please allow time for the visit administrators to process it.

The message tells you how many places are available and the how many have been booked. If you have booked to go on the visit you will see the status of your booking (usually 'Confirmed' or 'Unconfirmed' if your payment hasn't been processed yet). You will also see the pick up point you nominated and the pick up time.

If you are not booked, you will see something like this:

Not booked

You can book yourself on the visit by clicking 'Book yourself on the event'. You will see this simple form:

Make a booking

Select your pick up point (the map at the top of the visits page shows each point), add any information you think might be helpful to the administrators, and click 'Make the booking'. You will then see details of how to pay for your visit. If we hold an email address for you, you will get the same payment information by email.

If you want to book another member on the visit (for example, your husband or wife), click 'Book someone else on this event' to see...

Member lookup

Enter all or part of the name of the person you want to book on the visit and click 'Find a member'. If there is more than one person matching the details you provided you will see a page like this...

Multiple member matches

Select the member you are booking for and click 'Select'.

Having selected the member you want to book for you will see the same booking form as before...

Book another member

When you make a booking for someone else, both you and the member you booked for can see the status of their booking on the visit page.

If a visit is fully booked you will be offered the opportunity to add yourself or another member to the waiting list...

Fully booked

The waiting list process is identical to the booking process except that you will not be asked to make a payment. Instead, one of the visit administrators will contact you if a place becomes available for you.
