Lady Maria Clutterbuck - Mrs Dickens - and Jubilee cup cakes!

Our next monthly meeting is next Thursday 19th May at 2pm. We'll hear from Jane Glennie who will perform as Mrs Charles Dickens, describing her happy married life to the great writer and the terrible way it ended.

More details here.

After the talk there'll be a ‘Jubilee Cup Cake’ mini afternoon tea for members and attendees. The hall will be decorated with red, white, and blue tables for our Jubilee celebrations, so please do join us for an enjoyable afternoon.

Visit to Beaulieu & Buckler's Hard

We've started booking for our next visit on Wednesday, 22nd June. An exceptional, subsidised price of £25 gives you a trip to the Beaulieu Motor Museum and, after lunch, historic Buckler's Hard where you can pay an extra £6.50 on the day to take a river cruise.

You can find out more and make a booking here. Note that for the first time you will be able to pay by credit card online as well as paying by bank transfer.

You can also find out more at Thursday's meeting where you can make a booking and pay by card, cheque or cash.

Subscription renewals

Once again, thank you to everyone who has renewed their subscription. There remain quite a few members who we haven't heard from, however.

You can find out how to renew online here. We'll also be taking subscription renewals - £10 for full members and £7 for associates - by card, cheque, and cash at Thursday's meeting.

Spring newsletter

A reminder that you can read the latest newsletter in its new digital format here.

First steps in digital

WEA has let us know it is putting on a course to help people to become confident in digital skills, at the Hayling Island Community Centre on Wednesdays between 8th and 29th June. The sessions will start at 10.30 and finish at 12.30.

The course is free.

More details and how to book here.

It follows the members most likely to benefit from the course might not be reading this note. If you know of someone that might be interested - they don't have to be a HIU3A member - please consider letting them know about the course.
