Annual General Meeting

We'll be holding our AGM on Zoom this year at 2pm next Thursday, 15th April. Click here to see details of how to join and the meeting agenda.

Minutes of the last meeting and reports to this meeting are available in the online version of the Spring newsletter here, and in your printed copy if you have opted to receive one.

Thank you, Derek

Following Derek Dunn's retirement from Hayling Island u3a, the committee wish to acknowledge the valuable contribution he has made over the last 15 years. Derek was on the original committee setting up HIU3A in 2006 and has been Interest Group Co-ordinator, Vice-Chairman, Chairman, President and Past President. His professional input, managerial skills, dedication and hard work have contributed greatly to the success of HIU3A.

Group activities are slowly recovering

Some groups have met using various methods all through the COVID emergency, but many had to stop. Now restrictions are gradually being lifted there's more opportunity to meet, and some groups have restarted (albeit in a limited way); others have plans to get going soon.

Let me know if you'd like to make an announcement on behalf of your group.

Subscriptions overdue

Thank you to everyone who has paid their £5 renewal subscriptions for the new year. So far we've received payments from 241 members.

That leaves 194 members we haven't heard from. If that's you, please:

If you are unsure if you've paid, please go to the renewal page where we will show you a message if we've received your subscription. This works regardless of how you made your payment.

Walking netball

The group will resume sessions, subject to COVID restrictions, at Hayling College on 29th April. The group is open to all members. Click here for more details including how to contact Anne Hollis, the group leader.

Walking and cycling

Both groups have restarted but walks and rides are subject to 'the rule of six'. More details about walks here, and cycle rides here.

Petanque 2

Petanque is a form of Boules (more details here). Group 2 is open to new members and is looking to gain more players. Click here to find out how to contact Maggie Mundy, the group leader.
