Florence Nightingale & birthday buffet

Next Thursday's monthly meeting on 21st July will be held at the Royal British Legion in Legion Road. If you have booked a place at the birthday buffet, it will start at 12.30pm. The main meeting starts at 2.00pm as usual and features a theatrical presentation on the life of Florence Nightingale.

If you have booked but can no longer make it, please let Sue Humphrey know ASAP. Booking for the buffet is now closed but if you would like to be added to a waiting list in case of cancellations again, please let Sue Humphrey know.

Photos for the site

We could do with some more photos to feature on the home page of our web site. We're looking for photos that illustrate the range of our activities. They should not appear posed (a group of people looking straight at the camera does not convey activity well).

The pictures have to be landscape and much wider than taller (so they reproduce well on all types of device) so please allow a lot of spare space at the top and/or bottom of the picture.

Don't worry about picture size, I can crop and resize as necessary. I can also convert to the picture format we use on the web site.

Please send your photos to me. Thank you.

Third Age Trust events

The Trust invites you to attend a talk, lunch and concert based around Vivaldi's Four Seasons on Wednesday 14th September.

News from other organisations

We are being offered a series of free weekly indoor gardening sessions designed for people who are aged 50 years and over. The sessions take place on Tuesdays at the Hayling Library between 10pm and 12pm. The sessions have started already, but you might still be able to sign on. Click here for more details.

How well do you know West Dean? Not the West Sussex one, but the one on the Wiltshire border. We are being asked if we can help the local PCC convince Hampshire to adopt a footpath there. Click here for more details.

Fancy finding out more about Roman roads? We're invited to attend a conference organised by the Roman Roads Research Association on Saturday 3rd September and Sunday 4th September at Portsmouth University. Click here for more details.

We plan to send this email on the week-end before each monthly meeting. If you have something you'd like to include please let me know.
