Calling all thespians
We have been contacted by Portsmouth University to see if we have anyone interested in helping with the training of sports rehab therapists. They need volunteers to role play at a class where the students carry out a mock consultation, assess the candidate’s fitness and devise an exercise plan going forward. The class will be at the King Henry Building in Portsmouth on the 12th May, 1-3 pm. Tea/coffee will be provided. No experience is required. If you are interested contact me.
New family history group
We are starting a second Family History group. If you are interested contact Trevor Brash, our groups coordinator.
Kew Gardens visit is booking now
The next visit will be on 27th April 2022 to Kew Gardens. The cost is £37 which covers entrance fee, the return coach journey and the drivers gratuity. Click here to find out more and make a booking, or contact Catherine Britton.
Request to group leaders
Please check that your group members are current members of the Hayling u3a. We are aware that there are a few people that have not re-joined this past year. The easiest way to do that is to log in to the HIU3A site, go to your group page, and click the 'Manage group membership' link. You'll see a list of your members that have not lapsed their HIU3A membership. If any have not renewed their subscriptions in 2021/22 you'll see "subscription overdue" next to their name.
If your list is out of date, click 'Manage group membership' to add or remove members from your group.
No need to renew membership just yet
Membership subscriptions are not due until the end of March 2022. Please do not pay your subs yet, we will notify you when we are set up to receive them, but we wanted to tell you that renewals for the coming year will be just £10 (£7 for associate members).
National poetry competition
The u3a Trust is holding a new Poetry Competition. The theme is ‘new’ and poems must be no longer than 16 lines and must rhyme.
Entries must be submitted here before 25th February 2022.
South east u3a region summer school
This year's event will run from Monday 20th June to Thursday 23rd June 2022 at Chichester University. If you are interested find more here.
Hayling u3a has moved
Our website address has changed to: haylingu3a.org. Your membership username and password remain the same and links to the old address get redirected to the new one automatically.

Ladies fashion show
At Hayling Island Community Centre on 12th February 2022. Doors open at 1.30 pm. Favourite high street brands will be at 50% off or more. Tickets are £5 but if you purchase 4 tickets you get an extra one free. So get together with your friends. The show is in aid of the Community Centre.
