Indiscreet revelations of a tour guide

Susan Howe is a fully qualified London Tourist Blue Badge Guide, also taking groups looking for tigers in India, painting groups to Zanzibar and runs an award-winning country house hotel on the Devon coast. At our next monthly meeting on Thursday 16th February at 2pm, she will tell us stories of difficult members of the group you would dearly love to leave behind, and how she escaped being eaten by a leopard.

More details here.

Visit to Exbury gardens and steam railway

Our next visit, which is on Thursday 11th May and costs £34 per member, is likely to be a popular one. So, if you want to come, please book early.

Click here to find out more about the visit and make a booking.

You can also discuss the visit with Catherine and pay for your booking at Thursday's monthly meeting. We can accept:

  • Cash
  • Cheques
  • Card payments

If you book online, we also explain how to pay with a bank transfer.

Group leaders meeting

A reminder we'll be meeting on Friday 17th February 11.00am at the Hayling Community Centre. All group leaders are welcome to come for coffee and a catch up.

More details here.

Advance notice of membership renewals

You're no doubt keen to pay your annual subscription renewal but you'll have to wait until the beginning of March when we open the web site to accept online renewals.

Membership desks will be set up at the March and April monthly meetings for you to renew in person if this is your preference. Membership for the year April '23 to March '24 will be £15. You will be able to pay:

  • online by card or bank transfer
  • at the monthly meetings by cash, cheque or card
  • by posting a cheque.

Jigsaw exchange

I'm thinking of setting up a jigsaw exchange 'group'. The idea is that group members publish details of (complete) jigsaws on offer. Other members can then borrow them and either return them to the owner or pass them on to another member.

Please let me know if you are interested in joining in.

Photo ids for elections

You might not have noticed that, starting from the local government elections on 4th May, you'll be required to provide a photo id in order to vote.

More details about what you can use as id - and how to get a free 'voter authority certificate' - here.
