Unexplained mysteries of the world

Years of change exhibition

Mike Burnham writes:

We are seeking your help with the Exhibition to be held at the Royal British Legion from Saturday 2nd November to Sunday 17th November.

  1. We would welcome items of interest from the period which you may have and are willing to be exhibited. We have display cases available to hold valuable and sentimental items. Early toys and games, utility Christmas cards, children’s books of a bygone era.
  2. We do ask that as many members and their friends volunteer to be stewards during the Exhibition, we need at least two persons to cover all the times the exhibition is open.

From Monday - Thursday the exhibition will be open to School parties from 10am to 12noon, and the general public from noon till 3pm.

On Friday, Saturday and Sunday the exhibition will be open from 10am to 6pm and we are asking for Stewards to cover two three hour slots. The rota sheets will be available at the meeting on Thursday.

The exhibition team are working hard to make the event interesting and exciting. The aim is to give Islanders and others an insight into the history of our Island that may be unknown to them.

If you can help, please contact Mike at the next monthly meeting or click here.

Wine group vacancies

The Wine Appreciation 2 group has vacancies for up to four members. The plan is to meet every two months but you would be joining a new group so you have an opportunity to help establish it.

Please contact Richard or Janine North.

New ukulele groups

Peter Haskell is setting up two new Ukulele groups: Ukulele Thursday and Ukulele Friday. The groups are filling fast and there is just one vacancy on Thursdays and three on Fridays.

Please contact Peter to find out more.

Lack of email progress messages

If you use the web site to send emails, you might see that it no longer displays a progress message every 10 emails. We've no control over that. It happened once before and then reverted, so the change might be temporary. Please be patient when sending, and wait for the summary display. If you retry you'll duplicate all the emails.

We send this email on the week-end before each monthly meeting. If you have something you'd like to include please let me know.
