We meet on the morning of the 3rd Friday of each month and take it in turns to choose an historical subject, research it and deliver a talk on it.
We have to admit that the research sometimes only extends as far as printing and reading out a piece from History Reclaimed!
From October 2025 we will be meeting at The Barley Mow. There is no subscription but we (and the Hayling U3A committee) expect that on your way in you will buy a tea, coffee, carvery ticket or something else at the bar on your way in.
Recent topics have included The 2nd Duke of Richmond, Greatest American Presidents, Lord North, The Last Days of the Ottoman Empire, The History of Racism, Rorke's Drift, Margaret Thatcher, the Portsmouth Forts, the Battle of Trafalgar, Dick Whittington, Queen Victoria and the Irish Famine.
