Goats

... the title of next Thursday's presentation to the monthly meeting: 20th October at 2pm.

Invitation to join the Windsong group

This is a group for players with some knowledge of recorder playing, up to those more familiar with the instrument. This is a very easy going, friendly group with the main idea of enjoying playing music together with no pressure

The group meets on a Wednesday afternoon maybe once or twice a month on a very fluid basis. To find out more contact group leaders Avril Keyes and Linda Pitt via the Windsong group page; click 'Group leaders' at the top of the page to see your contact options.

Interested in birds? wildlife? ballroom dancing? table tennis?

Ken Osborne would like to hear from you if you are interested in any of these potential, new groups:

  • Birds and wildlife - it would also help if you could let Ken know of any specific interests or expertise you might have
  • Ballroom dancing
  • Table Tennis

Please get back to Ken via email address: groups@haylingu3a.org.

If you have an idea for a new group, click here to find out the process and the support available to you.

How to: look up other members

I've had a suggestion that I use this email as an opportunity to let you know about features of the web site you might not know about...

You might recognise one of these situations:

  • You want to get in touch with someone, but you've lost their address, email address or telephone number
  • You've got them in your address book, but their details have changed
  • You can remember their first name, but not their surname
  • You can remember their name, but don't know how it's spelt

To help you, the web site has a member lookup service. To get to it, you first have to log in to the members' area (click here if you've forgotten your username or password). That's because we don't give members' details to the general public.

Having logged in you'll see a list of menu options immediately below the blue page heading. Click 'Member services' then 'Member lookup' to see the lookup page (or click here to go there now).

You can then enter part of someone's first name, last name or both and click the 'Search member list' button to find members with matching names. Not sure if their name is Henderson or Hendersen? Just enter Henders (or henders - case doesn't matter). Sue or Susan? try one and - if you don't find the person you want - try the other.

If more than one member matches, the web site shows you a list so you can pick the one you want.

Having selected a member, the web site shows you the contact information authorised by that member. Even if we can't show you contact details, we give you an option to contact them by email if we have an address for them.

Why not give it a try now?

This and other web site features are described in the online web site walkthrough.

We send this email on the week-end before each monthly meeting. If you have something you'd like to include please let me know.
