Final warning about membership renewals
You are finally reminded that memberships not renewed by the end of June will be lapsed.
Please click here if you are not sure you have renewed - the site can tell you if you have paid your subscription. The page provides guidance if you have not.
July's monthly meeting
Thursday 21st July at 2pm: Around the World – the weird, the wild and the wonderful Part 5.
Andrew Negus talks about his experiences whilst travelling around the world in 1991. This talk is about the fifth leg of his journey. He is a retired history teacher, an around the world backpacker (twice) a Blue Badge guide for central southern England and aspires to be a local historian. He keeps chicken, bees and daughters.
More here.
Pickleball
This new group will meet on Mondays 4 – 6 pm at HICCA. The first meeting will be on 4th July. Pickleball is a mixture of tennis, badminton and table tennis. It is played with a lightweight ball and square solid paddles or bats. The sport is not too energetic and ideal for those of us who are unable to move around as fast as we did. If you are interested in joining or finding out more, please contact me.
Audio-visual volunteer
We are very fortunate to have three people on the Hayling u3a committee who can set up the microphones, computers etc at our monthly meetings. However, there could be times when they are unable to attend one of the meetings making it difficult to set things up for a speaker. Would you, or someone you know, be willing to help with setting up the audio-visual equipment at the monthly meetings. The person would need to be at HICCA to set up at 1.30 pm on that Thursday.
New Group Leader needed
Sadly, group leader Brian Seal has died. He was the leader for the second dining group. Their next lunch will be on the 29th June at the Brookfield Hotel in Emsworth. If you are interested in helping organise this group or becoming a group leader, please let me know.
u3a insurance
There have been several queries from Group Leaders and members about our liability insurance and the committee felt it important that we provide further information to all our members.
We've created an article here that explains several aspects of the u3a Trust-provided insurance.
Hopefully you will find the information useful. Let me know if you require anything more.
