The forecast for Tuesday is good, so I’m proposing a, possibly train-assisted, trip to Petersfield.
You could:
- Take the train to Petersfield and cycle back
- Cycle there and back
- Cycle there and, if you don’t fancy cycling back, take the train
I plan to cycle from HIADS starting at 9am.
There’s a train from Havant at 10.24 arriving at 10.40. If you’d like to go as a group, I suggest leaving at 9.45 from HIADS.
We can them meet up at Café Mezzo for elevenses before making our way back. We have two possibilities:
- Via Buriton Hill – shortest but steepest hill with a long descent into Deanlane End. Best option if you plan to push.
- Via Butser Cutting – longer and less steep route over the down with further undulations before reaching Deanlane End.
Let me know what you’d like to do and whether you plan to cycle to Petersfield. We’ve split the ride in the past to accommodate both routes. Other times we’ve all gone the Butser route.
