Winchester - bishops, buildings but no bones

MuckabitesThis is the last in Andrew Negus' Winchester Trilogy and covers the period 1700 to the present.

We shall see some prosperity return and see it increased by the arrival of soldiers and the railway. Sewers and a workhouse will have to be built as well as a massive army camp (where once there were lepers), and a naval base too.

We shall meet Jane Austen (briefly), Joan of Arc, the Muckabites and a diver who will not salute the King.

There will be civil disobedience on a large scale and Mrs Thatcher will be set in stone.

Andrew is a retired history teacher, an around the world backpacker (twice), a Blue Badge guide for central southern England, and he aspires to be a local historian. He also keeps chickens, bees and daughters.
