Meet at the Barley Mow at 9.35 and catch 31 bus at 9.43 to Havant. Catch 700 Coastliner at 10.12 to the lake at Emsworth, postcode PO10 8AA, grid reference SU753058, arriving at 10.24.
If anyone wishes to drive to Emsworth to join the walk, please be there for when the bus arrives.
This is a 4.0 mile walk with no stiles and 100 feet of height gain.
We start up the Sussex side of the lake and cross the railway and A27 to arrive in Westbourne along Mill Lane. We walk around the centre of Westbourne and turn back south across Hampshire Farm Meadows and along the bike route to Emsworth station.
The route is normally dry underfoot as we are on tarmac or gravel throughout. However there may be some mud in one or two places if we have a lot more rain shortly before the walk and puddles (which should be readily negotiable) on Mill Lane.
Those wanting a pub or café lunch have plenty of options in Emsworth or in Havant on the way back to Hayling.
