Chichester Lakes

This is another Bus Walk where we meet at the Barley Mow at 9.35 and catch the 31 bus to Havant at 9.43. We then catch the 700 to Chichester at 10.12, arriving at Chichester Bus Station at 10.50 (toilets available).

The walk goes past the Police Station then turns right on a footpath which leads us to the A27. We walk a little way along the cycle path, then cross the A27 by a footbridge and soon join the path between Ivy Lake and Trout Lake. Hopefully there will be plenty of birds to spot on the lakes. The paths are made of packed aggregate but there are 2 short stretches which will be muddy and slippery if wet. When we reach New Lake we turn sharply northwards and pass more lakes on our right-hand side before emerging close to another footbridge over the A27. We pass through an industrial area bordering Whyke Lake before finding a Victorian residential road which takes us over the railway back into the centre of Chichester.

There are plenty of options for lunch in Chichester including the Cloisters in the Cathedral, and Wetherspoon's opposite, before boarding the 700 at the bus stop by the Cathedral.
