Southampton - Water, Slaughter and Trade - Part 1

Andrew Negus returns having stood in for the 'owls' in April. This talk is the first of two covering the history and development of Southampton from Roman times until today. Apart from the stories of visiting kings, a giant, Jane Austen, and the Luftwaffe who all left their mark, Andrew will explore the remarkable mediaeval remains of this historic walled town.

Andrew is a retired history teacher and an around-the-world backpacker, a Blue Badge guide for central Southern England and aspires to be a local Historian. He keeps chicken, bees and daughters.
