We will arrange car shares in advance leaving at 08.50.
The car park in the New Forest is grid reference SU 229138 and is just past the Royal Oak Pub, Fritham postcode SO43 7HJ. Go past the pub on your RHS for about 50 yards and then turn left into the large car park.
We will start the walk no later than 10.am.
This is an 8.5 mile walk with 621 feet of ascent.
We go on a circular route thru the forest with most of the walk out in the open and a few forays into the trees. The route is a mixture of stony track and hardened soil with a couple of sections of soggy marsh type terrain that is common in the New Forest so please wear appropriate footwear given the weather forecast or if there have been rainy conditions in the preceding days.
Halfway round there will be a brief pub/toilet stop as we pass the High Corner Inn pub.
On returning to the car park we will drive 3.2 miles to the Green Dragon, Castleton Lane in Brook SO43 7HE for lunch. The pub is booked for 14.00. https://www.greendragonbrook.
