Approximately 5½ miles.
This is a pleasant walk with mostly gentle gradients with one steeper one affording good views near the end so, yes, there are, as ever, undulations! The terrain is almost entirely off road being paths and tracks. There is a short section of path early on which is poor and requires sound footwear. There are also two stiles early on.
If you are driving to the start, head for The Brushmakers Arms Upham (SO32 1JJ), continue past it (on your left) for about 300 yards and turn right into the free recreation ground car park immediately after “Rays Farm Cottage” on your right. Zoom in to the map above to see the precise location.
In view of this walk being slightly further afield, we will meet up as usual in the Community Centre outer car park in time to depart by 9am.
The Brushmakers Arms is closed on Mondays. An alternative is the Kings Head in Wickham square which serves food all day.
