Longer walk: Sheet, Rake & Steep

The walk is limited to six people per session. Please do not join the walk uninvited. The walk is oversubscribed so we are running two sessions on 23rd and 28th October. Please contact Richard North if you want to come with us on either session.

Please go direct to the Harrow Inn, postcode GU32 2DA. We have permission to park in the field immediately to the south of the Harrow alongside the path into Petersfield.

The walk crosses the infant River Rother and the A272 (twice) and heads East and then North through Durford Wood to the edge of Rake. It then turns West and follows Stedham Lane and the Shipwrights' Way to the A3. After crossing the A3, there is a loop in Steep that we can use before stopping at the Harrow Inn for refreshments, after lunch - or neither..

Total distance (including the loop - approximately 2 miles)is 9.7 miles, with height gain of 700 feet.

The walk is generally good underfoot, though there may be some mud after a wet spell.
