We plan to organise car shares in advance, so will not meet at West Town Car Park.
The pub for lunch would like to take food orders in advance so, before joining the walk, consult the pub’s website in advance to decide.
Park at the Links Tavern on the B2070 road into Liphook from Rake, postcode GU30 7EF, grid reference SU838307 for walk start at 10.00 am. We will post any outstanding food orders through the pub’s letterbox before starting the walk.
The walk goes south-west in the Greensand to Chapel Common, then diverts east into the Hollycombe Estate, before returning to the pub for lunch.
It was not muddy when I last walked the route and (because of the Greensand), I trust conditions will not have changed much.
The total distance will be 7.1 miles, with around 600 feet of total height gain. There is only one significant descent and climb, both in the Hollycombe Estate.
