This is a walk in the Surrey Hills, for a change. Leave Hayling by 8.45 a.m. and park at The White Horse at Hascombe GU8 4JA , grid ref.TQ002394 for walk start at 10. We use the public footpath to go through Winkworth Arboretum where there are toilets (2.5 miles from the start). The distance is 8.5 miles, with over 1000 feet of climbing, including 2 long climbs. We will have lunch on our return to the pub around 2-2.30 - the pub is open and serves food all day and we do not need to order in advance.
