This walk was originally meant to take place on April 24th 2020, but got cancelled due to the lock down.
As COVID-19 rules are scheduled to be relaxed further on May 17th, numbers on the walk will not be limited to six and it may be possible to meet at the Community Centre at 9.15 for a lift. Please let Richard know if you are planning to come along, and, if so, whether you would like a lift or be happy to offer one.
We'll park in Jolliffe Road, East Wittering, grid reference SZ790973, postcode PO20 8ET.
The walk goes along West Wittering beach, and then onto the dunes at East Head. After visiting East Head, we walk alongside Chichester Harbour to Itchenor, where there are various opportunities for lunch.
We then cross the peninsula for the 3 miles back to the cars.
Total distance is 10 miles, with a height gain of 150 feet.
It is generally stony or sandy underfoot, though there may be a little mud.
