Note slightly earlier walk start time: 9:45. We'll meet in the West Town car park (next to Station Road and the toilets) at 9.00 to car share to the Ye Olde George Inn car park, postcode GU32 1NH.
The route takes us up a bit of a hill out of East Meon! But once at the top of Small Down, weather permitting, there are beautiful views as the route follows the South Downs Way for several miles. After leaving the SDW, it’s all the way down past some farms and a rather lovely fish pond with moorhens, coots and ducks. Then a gentle walk along some lanes and a path lead us back into East Meon. The route is just over 12.5km (8 miles).
The earlier start is to be back in time for lunch. The pub's kitchen closes at 2.15 and the pub at 3.00.
