Our first longer walk of the year will be about 8 miles starting from the Star and Garter Inn in East Dean (PO18 0JG - see map above). It's one of Christopher Summerville's walks described here. You can also see the route on a mapping web site that also shows heights and gradients here.
Please bring plenty to drink, something for a mid-morning break, and a packed lunch.
I intend to cycle to the start. I suggest everyone else meets in West Town car park (as usual for the monthly walk) to arrange car share leaving at 9.15. We'll start the walk as close to ten as possible. I expect to get back to the pub around 3pm.
As I write this, the forecast is for a dry, cool day with occasional sun and a breeze to help us up the hills. Perfect! It might not stay that way, however, the fallback date is Thursday 10th May so please check back here closer to the time.
Update on Wednesday evening: weather still looking good for Friday so we'll stick to plan 'A'.
