Meet at West Town Car Park for car share to Lee-on-Solent, leaving at 9.15.
Park close to Lee-On-Solent Community Centre on Twyford Road, postcode PO13 8JU, grid reference SU569009 for walk start at 10 a.m. There is free parking at a small shopping centre across the road from the Community Centre (no toilets available).
We head for the promenade and reach both public toilets and the On The Beach cafe after a mile. so we can stop for a drink. We stay on the promenade for about 2 miles until we reach Browndown, where we go back inland.
We walk on tarmac or packed aggregate except for a short section near Browndown, which we can avoid if muddy by walking back to the main road.
The total distance is 4.1 miles with minimal height gain and no stiles.
For lunch, we can go back to a pub in Titchfield, or Cams Mill at Fareham.
