Meet at the Barley Mow at 9.35 and catch 31 bus at 9.43 to Havant. Catch 700 Coastliner at 10.22 to the car park just off the A27/A3 roundabout at Hilsea, postcode PO2 9RR, grid reference SU654044, arriving at 10.32.
If anyone wishes to drive to Hilsea to join the walk, please be there for when the bus arrives.
This is a 4 mile walk with no stiles and 100 feet of height gain.
We start by crossing the footbridge to walk around Hilsea Lido then cross back to walk Hilsea Lines. We go in a tunnel under the old fortifications to the Casement Café for coffee.
We continue along the lines then return on the other side of the water.
The route is normally dry underfoot. However there may be some mud in one or two places if we have a lot more rain shortly before the walk.
For lunch we could use the Toby Carvery in Hilsea (half a mile further on) or adjourn to the Wetherspoon in Havant.
