Meet at West Town Car Park at 9.30 (note - later than usual) and drive to Catherington. Park at The Farmer Inn (if staying for lunch), postcode PO8 0TD, grid ref. SU696144. We aim to start walking at 10.15. This is a 3.7 mile walk with 4 or 5 stiles and 430 feet of height gain. We descend Catherington Down and cross the next small hill before circling back round the south of the village to Catherington Lith, which is a small wood overlooking Horndean. We return to the pub via the church.
The pace will be leisurely.
There may be some mud and puddles if we have rain in the days before the walk.
Lunch is booked at the pub for 12.30. They have asked if we can pre-order food a few days in advance so I will circulate a menu the Thursday or Friday before.
