Paul has a hospital appointment so Andy has stepped in to lead this walk.
We haven't walked the Billy Trail for a long time (if ever) so Andy is proposing to walk it starting from HIADS (not the West Town car park). The Ship is closed for refurbishment, so Andy's suggesting lunch in the Langbrook Farm instead. We can then use bus passes to get back home.
We'll avoid walking the main road by taking the footpath behind the houses to Mill Lane then the Langstone section of the Billy Trail to Southbrook Road which brings us out almost opposite the lunch stop (the Lavant Stream footpath is also a possibility but it gets very muddy this time of year).
Using the Billy Trail means we'll avoid avoid a lot of the mud caused by the rain we've been having - but there will be muddy patches to navigate. Also, bring some binoculars if you have them as we might get a chance to spot some interesting birds from the oyster beds.
