- We take a footpath south as far as Liss station then turn north-east along trackbed of the old railway towards Bordon. This route goes alongside the infant River Rother for a while and is a local nature reserve.
Our halfway point is at the entrance to the military training area of Longmoor Inclosure and there is a handy log we can sit on to recharge our batteries with any hot or cold drink we have brought along.
Our return route goes down to the London-Portsmouth railway line and then turns and crosses over our outward route.
Lunch is booked at the pub for 12.30.
It should be generally dry underfoot – on the recce there was one path which looked as though parts might be muddy after a rainy spell, but this can be avoided if it proves to be muddy.
The total distance is 3.8 miles with only 100 feet of height gain and no stiles.
