Photography Too

The group will meet the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 10.00 at The Barley Mow on Hayling Island. We are a group of mixed abilities, some very experienced, some beginners who are keen to progress but all interested in using photography to present personal opinions or feelings.

We do not have competitions, we make images on a theme and present them to the other members with our thoughts on what led to us to make these images.

We are an eclectic and inclusive group - we welcome images in digital, paper and any other media you can think of - the only requirement for membership is an inquiring mind and a desire to make images.

Photography

We take photographs of mutually agreed monthly subjects with the aim of 'right first time' as seen through the camera view finder. However some digital manipulation to enhance the photograph is accepted.

Photographs submitted for the monthly subject must not be more than one year old.

We encourage members to fully understand their camera functions, either by attending suitable courses or through willing members of the group.

Our meetings are held at the Hayling Golf Club on the last Wednesday of each month starting at 10am through to 12pm. Members pay a small sum (currently £5.00) quarterly to cover the cost of hiring the venue, equipment etc.

U3A members are welcome to pop in to see us and see what we get up to.

We currently display chosen photographs at the Hayling U3A AGM but would like to explore other area where we can display.

We arrange additional displays at other locations based on members suggestions and majority approval.

We display photographs on mount boards, sizes no larger than 280mm x 350mm.

To keep everyone informed, we take notes/minutes of each monthly meeting and circulate them to group members by email.
