The group meets fortnightly, every other Friday 14.00 - 16.00 at The West Town Inn. The group members will take it in turns to set a topic for the next meeting and will then lead that meeting.

The first 1.5 hours will be in French, with the last 30 minutes to cover any questions or areas of the language people would like explained.

We meet on the second Tuesday of each month from 2.00 to 4.00pm.

The group has a vacancy. Current members all have reasonable knowledge of German. This is a lighthearted fun group, so each member should be willing to contribute.

At the moment a few of us are meeting on-line on a Friday using Zoom. We converse exclusively in French and start at 11:30.

The group is for people who studied French at school or evening classes, but who have forgotten quite a lot and would like to go back over some grammar and increase their vocabulary, perhaps to add enjoyment to holidays in France. As we have been going for some time, it is not suitable for beginners.

We try to improve by:

• reading articles in French
• doing some written homework on various topics
• revising the use of verbs
• listening to a tape
• sometimes watching BBC course "Ma France", and
• playing games

It is certainly not a serious course, but by using this mixture we make progress.
